Problem
A significant challenge in livestock production is the embedded variation and waste within the system. This variation can arise on the farm due to factors such as disease, inadequate nutrition, or poor environmental control. The consequences often manifest as reduced uniformity among growing animals or at slaughter.
Excessive variation, particularly within groups of pigs, leads to increased aggression and competition, particularly impacting less dominant animals. This results in limited access to feed and heightened stress levels, ultimately raising the risk of disease development. In turn, these compromised animals can become vectors for infection, risking the whole group.
Our technology
Our AI based remote swine monitor has been combined with our advanced modelling of slaughter data to create an intelligent decision-support tool. This intelligent system is designed to alert vets of changes to swine performance and behaviour which may be significant to production efficiency, pig welfare/ health or profitability.
These real-time alerts enable vets to undertake proactive measures and provide key producer support to proactively address health-issues as they occur on farm. For producers, our solution brings focused expertise on real issues before they become apparent. This has potential to significantly improve outcomes and lead to a more proactive health-care model.
